About Drotech
Direct delivery from our own stock
Drotech is a trading company. We supply products to bodywork, trailer and trailer manufacturers throughout Europe and dealers in the Benelux. Our purchasing is done through partners in Eastern Europe. In addition, we do a large part of our purchasing in-house in Asia and we have custom-made products developed and produced for various manufacturers.
With a close-knit team of ten employees, we do everything we can to assure our customers that they receive quality products at a competitive price, at the desired moment and tailored to their specific wishes and needs. That is why we attach great importance to personal contact with our customers and suppliers and we are convinced of the importance of good aftercare and service. We also know better than anyone how important speed, reliability, flexibility and decisiveness are. This is how we ultimately make the difference.
Customers
Our clientele consists of body, trailer and trailer manufacturers across Europe, including some well-known players in the industry. We also have custom-made products developed and produced for them. In addition, we serve the aftermarket and supply to dealers of trailers and trailers mainly in the Benelux, and also with some partners in whole off Europ.
In order to be of value to our customers, we first of all have a good network of suppliers. This is how we conduct the first representation of Schneider, Kömmerling and Bernhofer.
In addition, we do a large part of our purchasing in-house through partners in Asia. Our nose wheels and related articles are a prime example of this. But also various cast products, including coupling pieces for panic closures in horse trailers and hinges and locks products. We also have the custom-made products developed and produced by our Asian partners.
Our history
1981
The origins of Drotech go back to 1981, when Arend van Dronkelaar in ‘s-Heerenberg Peitz Nederland B.V. founded. As an agent of the well-known Peitz Paderborn, which produced axles, overrun brakes and close coupling systems for light and heavy vehicle construction, he sold these products to bodywork, trailer and trailer manufacturers in the Benelux. The sales success led to demand from the aftermarket. A warehouse was set up and the first employees were hired.
1990
In 1990, the range for heavy vehicle construction was expanded with products from Schneider, known for our twistlocks, among other things, and Drotech B.V. established. With the arrival of Henk Sturme in 1993, the development of Drotech gained momentum in the following years and the range was expanded with products from Aluteam, Kӧmmerling (glues and sealants) and Bernhofer (pulling eyes). From 1996, the links with light vehicle construction were intensified and the working area expanded from the Benelux to the whole of Europe.
2000
Around 2000, Drotech started an experiment on behalf of a light vehicle manufacturer to import nose wheels from Asia under its own management. The number of nose wheels is expanding rapidly and various hinges and locks products follow. This means that a change in purchasing strategy is a fact and Drotech is also supplying more and more custom-made products, which it purchases from Asia. With the direct import from Asia, there is a need to expand the warehouse and in 2007 Drotech moves to the Horsterweg in Sevenum.
2009
Once settled in Sevenum in Limburg, there was a setback in 2009 in the heavy trailer industry > 3.5t. Customers in this sector fell away and repeat orders are not coming any moor. More and more Drotech were looking for new customers throughout Europe and products mostly in trailer construction <3.5t. Here we can say that this certainly succeeded and they catch new customers and products were found to have produced.
2021
Due to the enormous turnover growth and the associated stock growth, the warehouse at Horsterweg 46 became a bit too small and a 2nd warehouse with office has been built along this building at Horsterweg 44 so that there is sufficient storage space for the coming years.
Present day
We are now writing 2023 and we can say that we are certainly an established and trusted supplier among the trailer manufacturers <3.5t throughout Europe, where orders can be placed for the longer term.
